Venezuela Reiterates Call for Diplomatic Solution to Border Crisis

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez reiterated the need for a diplomatic solution to the border crisis with Colombia and called on the presidents of the two countries to meet face to face to resolve the conflict. Rodriguez blasted Colombian statements on the crisis as being "a combination of erratic inaccuracies, falsehoods, and confessions of state supported crimes at the border” and said Caracas would be seeking compensation for the 5 million Colombians who entered Venezuela fleeing violence and war.
