White House Spokesperson Commends Guatemala

At a White House briefing, spokesman Josh Earnest said the United States respects Perez Molina’s decision to resign and commends the Guatemalan people for the manner in which they have dealt with the crisis. Earnest said the U.S. will continue to support Guatemala’s democratic process, including peaceful elections scheduled for this Sunday, and supports the Central American country’s efforts to fight corruption and impunity, especially the work of the Public Ministry and the International Commission Against Impunity. teleSUR
