Rally car narrowly avoids crowd

Dramatic footage has emerged of an incredibly close call for rally spectators and media as a car came flying off the track at the Latvian 'Kurzemes' Rally Championship late last month.

The video, captured from the side of the road, shows the moment the car lost control and nearly ploughed into the crowd. One person reportedly suffered minor injuries but all others escaped unscathed.

The filmer later wrote online: "I watched the Rally Kurzeme 2015 and I filmed rally cars when suddenly one of them slipped out of track and crashed.

"One photographer was injured but did not receive serious injuries."

Separately, in the same championship, two drivers were reportedly seriously hurt in another crash. This is the 50th anniversary of the event - one of the largest in the post-Soviet states.
