Watch this hd video Thank you very much Sanga & Mahela for all the memories HD VideO-Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene share a long history. The two are now friends for almost 20 years and it was cricket that brought these two players close to each other. They both come from different cities in Srilanka but are now known as best friends.

Sanga is from Kandy while Jayawardene hails from Colombo. The two met each other at the club cricket level and started knowing each other. Sanga shifted to Colombo from Kandy and went in the same club where Jayawardene used to play.

The two didn’t had much for each other back then. Jayawardene made his debut in 1997 and 3 years later Sanga joined in the international team as well. Then was the time the two came close to each other and became friends.

Jayawardene remembers those years and said that I was the youngest player in that team and rest all were my seniors so I really had problems talking to a person of my age. When Sanga became a part of the team, things got easy for me.

It was natural that I was affiliated to him because after years I saw someone in the team of my age. Sanga said that I was new and wanted someone to talk to and thankfully Jayawardene was there in those times.

The two friends have a lot of common things which is why it didn’t get hard for them to carry on and become excellent players and best buddies. Sanga and Mahela both hold the highest run scoring partnership for any wicket in any first class match.

The two didn’t knew by that time and only when they came close to it were told. It was against the South Africans in 2006 when they broke that record. For both it was one of the happiest days of their lives.

The two not only have cricketing memories but also have a lot of personal things to share as well. Jayawardene’s wife was the maid of honor at Sangakkara’s wedding. Sanga on the other hand didn’t took part in the wedding of Jayawardene.
