United States Accused of Human Rights Violations at Guantanamo
  • 9 years ago
The Inter-American Commission for Human Rights in Washington D.C. has accused the United States of violating human rights and international law at the Guantanamo Bay prison on Cuban soil. The IACHR also called on the U.S. to shut down the facility. A 142-page report cites discrimination against Muslims, among other violations. The report says that a total of 116 prisoners remain in the military prison but that less than 8% of those ever held there were Al Qaeda members. teleSUR
