JEFF MOORE & NIAMH FAHY combine to bring traditional melodies and songs of Ireland to Austin Texas
Jeff has been playing guitar for the past 35 years and is one of the Southwest's most notable Irish musicians, having performed with several regional Celtic music ensembles, most recently his band Aidan. He has also had the pleasure of accompanying international touring musicians such as James Keane, James Kelly, John Williams, Johnny B. Connolly and Joe Burke. He has developed a distinct style of accompaniment, using DADGAD tuning and in addition to performances, is an active teacher of accompaniment technique within Irish traditional music.
Niamh's passion for everything musical has been apparent since a young age. Originally from Ireland and now living in Austin, Niamh learned her trade from renowned fiddle master Antoin MacGabhann, in her native County Meath. Since then Niamh’s love of music has afforded her the chance to play all over the world. For 5 years Niamh toured consistently with Riverdance, where she played some of the best theatres in the world. Some of Niamh’s other work includes Women of Ireland, The Dohl Foundation, Donal Lunny, The Chieftains and Idina Menzel, Prior to moving to Austin Niamh lived in London for 3 years where she established a career as a session musician, providing string arrangements for many bands and solo artists, while also completing a Masters in Music Therapy.
