Torture, a well-established police technique in Mexico

While Mexico's President Enrique Pena Nieto is gearing up to join French President François Hollande for Bastille Day celebrations in Paris, many people in France and around the world are rallying against Mexico's human rights problems. Most recently, there’s been an outcry over alleged torture at the hands of Mexican authorities. Amnesty International and the UN’s special rapporteur on torture have both published alarming reports on the issue.
The Mexican government says these are just isolated cases, yet the account given by the policeman interviewed in our report casts a disturbing light on law enforcement practices in Mexico.
