Cuba: FARC Lauds Pope’s Diagnosis of Environment and Hunger

FARC rebels participating in peace talks in Cuba have praised Pope Francis’s call to hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor and take decisive action on their behalf. Spokesperson Pastor Alape spoke of the religious leader’s intelligent, courageous stance on confronting the abuses of economic and political powers that are degrading the world and submitting millions to hunger, poverty and misery. In many cases, said the negotiator, such abuses lead to rebellion as the people exercise their right to rise up against unjust regimes. teleSUR
