The string of massive corruption scandals gripping Guatemala has deepened, as the head of the congressional commission investigating President Otto Perez Molina for corruption charges, Baudillo Hichos, resigned Thursday. Hichos' resignation came after he was linked to the US$14.5 million corruption scandal and accused of conspiracy and fraud. The Attorney General urged the Supreme Court to lift the legislator's immunity so as to further the investigation. teleSUR
