The video for “Surrender” interprets the torrent of emotions associated with falling in love as blips and signals reaching through the darkness, sparking a supernova of light, motion and beauty - burning up its own exhaust - and disappearing as quickly as it began. It is a work that is backwards and forwards, explodes and implodes, and burns brightly only to burn out. Experimental filmmaker and artist Christin Turner employs a novel technique layering and compositing of black and white film to create a kaleidoscope of vivid prismatic colors, in an homage to Kodak's early color film processes at the dawn of the 20th century.
