Mexico: Relatives Challenge Official Account of Michoacan Killings

Contradictions and accusations continue to surface surrounding the death of 42 alleged drug cartel gunman May 22 in the embattled central western Mexican state of Michoacan. Authorities say the 42 died in a shootout with police, which also left one officer dead. Family members of the victims, however, say their loved ones were not connected to the New Generation drug cartel as alleged by authorities, and rather than being involved in a shootout, were, in fact, executed after having been tortured. teleSUR
