Russia shooting: Six dead after gunman opens fire at hunting shop

A gunman armed with a rifle killed six people on Monday afternoon after opening fire inside and outside a hunting shop in Belgorod, Southern Russia, according to reports.
The suspect, Sergey Pomazun, a 32-year-old former convict, is still at large and may be also armed with a gas pistol, RT reported citing law enforcement agencies.
The tragedy took place around 2pm when Pomazun allegedly opened fire at the hunting shop in the centre of the city, killing three salespeople. He then exited the shop and randomly opened fire in the street, killing three passersby, Russian media reported. Among the dead were two schoolgirls aged 14 and 16, the Belgorod municipality said on its website, according to Reuters. Five people die on the scene, one died in hospital.
According to RT, the companion who drove him in a dark BMW X5 to the crime scene and who reportedly may be his father, was the same person who drove him away after the shooting.
The two suspects allegedly abandoned the vehicle in a neighboring quarter which was later found empty by police.
Belgorod, whose inhabitants were advised to stay indoors while the manhunt was continuing, plans to honor the victims of the shooting with two days of mourning starting on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
According to the regional Interior Ministry Department, law enforcement officials are checking vehicles and housing estates in the city and its outskirts.
