Toddler killed as suspect fleeing from police plows through wedding

An 18-month old child was killed after a man being pursued by police plowed his car into guests at a wedding dinner in the city of Ipoh in Malaysia late on Saturday.

Policemen were on duty at a roadblock when they spotted a man wanted for drug-related crimes driving a Proton Persona.

The man, noticing the police, sped off and a high-speed chase ensued.

Nearby, a wedding dinner was taking place. The man drove right through the function, killing a toddler and injuring two others.

Police aborted their pursuit in order to help the injured.

The suspect remains at large.
