White Appreciation Day at BBQ joint means discount meat for white people, others angry - TomoNews

Milliken, Colorado barbecue restaurant Rubbin Butts is catching flak after its Hispanic owner, Edgar Antillon, announced a "White Appreciation Day" on June 11. The controversial promotional event offers 10 percent discounts to all Caucasian customers.
Local civil rights activist Ricardo Romero worries that this event will perpetuate racism and added that if Antillon is to give discounts, he might as well give it to the whole community. Jennifer McPherson of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies points out that Rubbin Butts may undergo investigations if even one customer files a complaint.
Despite the outrage and the death threats, Antillon is standing by his decision and expressed his desire to unite people and celebrate all Americans regardless of race. He said "We're all American. Plain and simple, whether you come from different country or you were born here, we're all American."
