Man shoots pot arrow at prison in marijuana smuggling fail

A Bellingham, Washington man arrested on August 27 after trying to shoot a baggie of pot affixed to an arrow into the recreation room of a Whatcom County Jail.

David Wayne Jordan, 36, reportedly told police he was using the bow and arrow to hunt a squirrel. He could not explain why the marijuana was necessary for the task.

A civilian employed by the sheriff's office saw Jordan get out of his red Ford pickup at around 8:40 a.m. with a bow, take take aim and shoot an arrow toward the building's second floor recreation center. His aim was off and the projectile landed on the roof.

The individual noted the license plate number of Jordan's vehicle and police found the vehicle some time later with bow inside. Police then obtained a search warrant and visited his home. Jordan was reportedly and refused to let officers inside, so they but forced entry.

Jordan was booked into the Whatcom County Jail on for attempted introduction of contraband and for obstructing officers.

The 36-year-old is well known to the courts. According to deputies, on August 8 he was sentenced to serve 20 days in jail for two counts of assault and one count of resisting arrest.
