At least two people were killed and 13 were injured after a pipeline explosion in the village Jankow Przygodzki in Poland on Thursday (November 14). Reports say the blast occurred on a high-pressure gas pipe, part of a local pipeline that was being modernized.

The existing pipeline was probably damaged while the new pipeline was being installed next to it. However, although the damaged pipeline was closed, remaining gas trapped inside flowed out and burned, causing a fire. There was no gas in the new pipeline that was being laid into the ground.

Several houses and the forest caught fire, with local residents saying people ran out of their houses crying.

Some of those injured are in critical condition. Some of the wounded also included children.
