Japanese air force pilot charged with sexually assaulting female students

A Japanese air force pilot has been charged with sexually assaulting two female students after he allegedly bear-hugged one from behind and threw another to the ground.


Japan Air Self-Defense Force First Lieutenant Hiroki Yonemura, based at Hamamatsu Air Base, was arrested last Monday for committing indecent assault against a female student in her 20s in Hamamatsu City Shizuoka Prefecture in September.


He has also been charged with sexualy assaulting another 20-something student after he wrapped his arms around her from behind this past July.


Yonemura has denied all charges related to the two alleged assaults, saying he doesn't remember anything about them. Police are continuing their investigation.
