U.S. Navy helicopter crash lands in Japan

A U.S. Navy MH-60S helicopter carrying four crew members carried out a failed emergency landing in Miura city, 60 km southwest of Tokyo, on Monday (December 16), injuring two crew members on board.

Agence-France Presse reported that one crew member later told Japanese officials that the helicopter experienced a transmission problem before sending out a distress signal at 3:31 p.m.

The aircraft crash landed in an area of reclaimed land about 10 miles southwest of Yokosuka Naval Base.

One crew members broke a thigh, while another suffered a contusion on his thigh, according to the AFP.
