Church counselor allegedly abused 30 teens for years

A church counselor in Taiwan is accused of sexual abuse against at least 30 teenaged school dropouts.
The 32-year-old suspect, whose surname is Zhan, had been a volunteer counselor at a church in the city of Hsinchu for five years. He allegedly took advantage of the minors while offering them free accommodation and career advice. He then intimidated them into keeping silent under threat of releasing sex tapes he'd made during their encounters.
The scandal broke in August when one of his victims told his probation officer about the assault. Police found sex photos and threesome sex tapes in Zhan's computer. According to police investigation at least 30 teens were victimized. He was prosecuted yesterday on at least 40 charges.
