Sex dungeon: Chinese man executed for holding six women as slaves

A 36-year-old Chinese man was executed on Tuesday for keeping six women as sex slaves in a dungeon he had built himself and killing two of them, China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Li Hao, a married father of an 8-year-old son, reportedly came upon the idea of holding women as sex slaves after stumbling across pornographic videos on the internet. Li thought he could use the dungeon to make money. He started digging the dungeon in a 20-square-meter basement of a residential complex he bought in Hunan Province.
All six victims, aged from 16 to 23, were prostitutes. They were lured into the dungeon by Li, who pretended to be a customer. They were repeatedly raped, and one of them became pregnant while held as a captive. Apart from online pornographic shows, Li also brought some of the women to motels and arranged for customers to have sex with them.
Some of the women attempted to escape from the dungeon, but to no avail. In 2010, a woman surnamed Chang attacked Li from behind while he was digging a tunnel. An infuriated Li strangled Chang with the assistance of another hostage.
Li wanted to murder a 16-year-old hostage surnamed Cai. He deemed her useless, as she could no longer appear in pornographic shows after becoming infected with a sexually transmitted disease. He played the girls against Cai and turned a blind eye whenever they assaulted her. He also refused to give her food and water. She was finally beaten to death.
The sex dungeon was only discovered after a captive escaped in September 2011.
