Florida shooting: Ivan Parra killed in car crash as shooting victims chase him and accomplice

Two men fired several shots at a couple in Pompano Beach, Florida Sunday morning before driving away and crashing their car into a palm tree along I-95.
A woman was dropping off her male friend at his apartment on the 400 block of NE 29th Ave at 5:00 a.m. when two men wearing bandanas approached her vehicle. They had a brief conversation and the men reportedly mistook her male friend for someone else. For reasons unknown, the two men fired several shots at the couple before fleeing in their 1997 Toyota Camry.
The victims and and their vehicle were not hit by the bullets and they courageously gave chase to their assailants. The couple followed them several blocks onto I-95 where one of the suspects lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a palm tree just north of Sample Road.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Ivan Alexander Parra, died at the scene of the accident. Broward Fire Rescue Department cut the top off the suspect's vehicle to remove Parra's body from the wreckage. The passenger was taken to the hospital and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
