The new objects found in the southern Indian Ocean off Western Australia on Saturday (March 29) were not related to the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, according to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

The Chinese military plane Ilyushin II-76 sighted three objects that were white, red and orange in color on Saturday, according to Xinhua News Agency. A Royal Australian Air Force P3 Orion also reported seeing objects in the water in a different part of the search area, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said.

A statement published by the Australian authority said the Chinese Haixun 01 and HMAS Success have retrieved a number of objects from the ocean but none was confirmed to be related to MH370.

A total of ten aircraft are planned to be involved in Sunday's search, which continues to focus on an area of about 319,000 square kilometres.
