A Facebook spat turned into a real-life brawl that ended when a pregnant woman got shot. Jacksonville resident Virginia White is in police custody and charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder following an online argument that escalated way out of hand on Wednesday.
White and an unnamed woman were involved in an argument on Facebook on Tuesday night. On Wednesday, the woman, who was pregnant, decided to seek White out in person. When she knocked on White's door in Northwest Jacksonville, their online argument got real.
Police don't know if White thought she was in mortal peril from her pregnant assailant, but she drew a gun and fired one shot, hitting the woman in the abdomen. White was arrested, and the other woman was taken to hospital in critical condition. Her unborn child didn't survive.
White's mother Lillian Jordan expressed disbelief that her daughter could have shot someone, telling reporters, "Somebody had to provoke my child."
