Racist skateboarder attacks NYC cab driver for being Pakistani

A New York City taxi driver was the victim of what appears to have been a hate crime when he his attacker smashed a skateboard into his face.
The attacker, described as an African-American man wearing a white sweatshirt, hailed Mohammad Ali Fahd's cab late Monday night on Second Ave. between Sixth and Seventh Streets.
Early on in the trip, the passenger asked Fahd his country of origin, to which Fahd told him he was from Pakistan. Well this was just unacceptable for the passenger, who started cursing and banging on the partition inside the taxi. Of course, this was distracting for Fahd, who hit a pothole.
Fahd stopped at a gas station on Avenue C and 23rd Street to check on his car, and this was when the passenger came up behind him and whacked him in the face with the skateboard.
An ambulance driver who was nearby tried chasing the attacker down the street, but he ended up escaping on his skateboard.
Fahd was left with a fractured nose, facial cuts and swelling so bad he couldn't open his left eye.
