San Diego border agents find $2.9M of meth inside gas tanks

Three men were arrested for smuggling large amounts of liquid and crystal methamphetamine across the US-Mexico border over the weekend. All arrested suspects were U.S. citizens and the estimated value of the seized methamphetamine is $2.9 million.
According to Fox News Latino, a 27-year-old man entered the San Ysidro Port of Entry in a 1993 Ford pickup truck on Friday at 9 a.m and was ordered to the inspection area. A drug sniffing dog alerted the officers to the gas tank where later revealed it contained 166 pounds of liquid methamphetamine inside.
In a separate attempt, a 22-year-old and a 19-year-old passenger pulled into the inspection area of the border crossing in a 1972 Ford pickup truck at about 4:45 a.m. It was reported that the officers noticed the fuel appeared unusual and they found 126 pounds of liquid and crystallized methamphetamine inside the gas tank after removing it.
