Phoenix church shooting: ex-con Gary Moran arrested after bragging about crime

A violent ex-con who was released from prison on April 24 was arrested again on Sunday after allegedly killing Rev. Kenneth Walker and badly beating Rev. Joseph Terra on the night of June 11 at a Phoenix church.
According to Arizona Republic, Gary Moran was arrested and booked into jail on Sunday after Phoenix police found that Moran had been bragging about beating a priest and robbing him on Saturday afternoon.
Rev. Joseph Terra told investigators that he heard a noise last Wednesday night and opened the kitchen door to investigate when Gary Moran attacked him with an angle iron, the Arizona Republic reported.
Terra was injured and then went to get a gun that was kept in a bedside table in his room.
He confronted Moran but was unable to shoot because of an injured finger. Moran then wrestled the weapon away from him and made him get on his hands and knees.
Rev. Kenneth Walker rushed to the aid of his colleague but was shot dead by Moran.
Moran has been charged with first-degree murder during the commission of a crime, first-degree burglary, armed robbery with a deadly weapon and several counts of theft.
Fox News Latino reported that Moran is a career criminal who had been out of prison only six weeks where he had served about eight years on charges that included aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
