Kaitlin Goldstein, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate student who went missing more than a week ago in northern India, was found dead in a ravine on Saturday (June 21).

According to MIT News, Goldstein had arrived at the campus of the Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh located near Leh, northern India on June 7. She was last seen going for a morning run along a mountain trail at around 6 a.m. local time on June 14. When she did not return from her run, a group of SECMOL students and instructors began a search of the summit at around 8:45 a.m. The Jammu and Kashmir police joined the search effort in the afternoon.

Goldstein reportedly slipped on loose rock while running, falling several hundred feet down a cliff. Her body was found in a ravine below a trail on June 21.
