Idaho river drowning: Two brothers die trying to save boy who fell into river

Two Idaho brothers drowned in an Idaho river while attempting to rescue their 8-year-old son and nephew who had fallen in. It happened Saturday in Elmore County.
Jose Barroso-Alfaro, 37, along with his son and his brother Martin, 35, were fishing near Loveridge Bridge on Highway 51. Somehow the 8-year-old boy fell into Snake River, which is known by locals for having a strong undercurrent.
Both Jose and Martin jumped into the water in an attempt to save the boy, but sadly both men were swept away.
That's when deputies said a bystander, Michael Felmeier, 23, jumped into the river and was able to grab the boy and pull him to safety.
After the brothers went under, several rescue crews were brought in to search for the them. Both men were found by the Ada County Dive Team, but both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear if the brothers knew how to swim.
