Drunk teen girl given illegal IV after passing out at 37-year-old’s house party

An Idaho woman could face 10 years in prison for administering an IV to a 14-year-old high school student who passed out from alcohol poisoning.

On Aug. 24 Phippin, 37, purchased alcohol for high schoolers and threw a birthday party for them at her house in Ada County, Idaho.

When Phippen discovered a young girl had fainted after taking too many shots, she refused to call an ambulance or the girl’s parents.

Instead, Phippen administered a 500 cc IV to the young girl. She also reportedly put the girl in the shower to try to wake her up.

The student was able to walk home the next morning.

Phippen is being held in the Ada County Jail for purchasing alcohol for minors and injuring a child.
