Thai police are looking for a British backpacker reportedly linked to the murder of two British tourists on Thailand’s Koh Tao on Monday.

The two victims, Hannah Witheridge from Great Yarmouth Norfolk and David Miller from Jersey were apparently attacked with a hoe, Sky News reported. Miller received deep wounds to the back and side of his head, while Witheridge received injuries to her face.

Police are hunting a British backpacker who they say may have known Miller and is believed to have fled to Bangkok on Monday morning, according to Sky News and the BBC.

The victims travelled separately to Thailand on August 25 and met while staying at the same budget hotel beside the beach, according to the Guardian.

They were recorded by CCTV leaving the same bar together at 1 a.m. on Monday morning.

The bodies of the pair were found naked, behind large rocks on the beach at around 6:30 a.m., according to the Nation.
