Chinese Rob Ford: China’s very own drug addicted city mayor, Gong Weiguo dismissed - TomoNews
  • 9 years ago
Former mayor Gong Weiguo has finally confirmed rumors and accusations of drug use after attempting to a 40 day detox.

Gong Weiguo, age 43, was elected city mayor in a district of Hunan back in December 2011, but the stresses of the job quickly got to him and rumors swirled that he was a regular meth user.

The rumors became an open secret a year ago when Gong suffered a bout of paranoia while drunk and high at a KTV bar. Police arrived to find the mayor naked and passed out in the midst of several baggies of drugs.

Gong’s paranoia escalated to the point where he had dozens of security cameras installed in his house to guard against thieves and assassins.

Gong, ultimately, was required to submit a urine sample and was dismissed from his position when the results came back positive for drugs.

Perhaps he could go be a politician in Toronto? Or is there only enough room for one Rob Ford per country?
