Two Dutch explorers that disappeared in the Canadian Arctic are presumed dead.

Two Dutch explorers that disappeared in the Canadian Arctic are presumed dead. 

It’s believed that Philip de Roo and Marc Cornelissen fell through thin ice and drowned.  

The search for them began about a week ago when an automated distress call was sent to their base camp. 

A rescue aircraft was dispatched, but unable to land in the area as the ice cover wasn’t strong enough to support it. 

The individuals onboard did not see the missing men but did locate their equipment and
