The debate on whether to legalise marijuana, and the health hazards associated with the drug, is a divisive one, and there are many strong opinions. But in recent years there's been a move towards legalisation in places like Colorado in the US and also in Uruguay.
Proponents refer to economic arguments, saying a legal marijuana market could bring jobs as well as a much-needed boost to government coffers. The Netherlands is seen to have a tolerant stance on marijuana, and coffee shops in Amsterdam have attracted a steady stream of tourists. But technically, weed isn't legal there. We find out more.
