John Muir’s Obituary Corrected 100 Years Later

The Los Angeles Times recently released a correction to the obituary it printed for famed naturalist John Muir in 1914, adjusting his birth date to the correct one of April 21.

The Los Angeles Times recently posted a correction for a story 100 years after it initially appeared. 


A note was added to its obituary of famed naturalist John Muir, originally published on Christmas Day in 1914, that his birthday was listed as April 28, 1838, but it was actually seven days earlier. 


Fittingly, the media outlet decided to address the change on
