Crazy son murders father with sledgehammer in quiet California neighborhood

A California man was arrested Sunday night for allegedly strangling his father and beating him to death with a sledgehammer.
Police found Simran Khalsa, 64, dead in his Santa Rosa home around 11:30 p.m. with the weapon nearby.
According to Santa Rosa police Sgt. Dave Linscomb, the man’s son, 33-year-old Angelo Michael Lancaster, was hiding behind a tree in the backyard when police arrived.
They were notified of the incident by Lancaster’s cousin, who was also living in the house. The cousin was reportedly uninjured.
Sgt. Linscomb said it appeared Lancaster had used the hammer to break through the front door of the house on Wright Street.
Lancaster, who also goes by the name of Kartar Khalsa, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and murder and taken to the Sonoma County Jail.
He is being held without bail and will be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
