Miss Honduras murder: Maria Jose Alvarado and sister killed by jealous boyfriend

Missing Honduran beauty queen Maria Jose Alvarado and her sister have been found dead, and were allegedly murdered by her sister’s boyfriend, Honduran police said on Wednesday.
Maria Jose Alvarado and her sister Sofia had been missing since they went to celebrate the birthday of Sofia’s boyfriend, Plutarco Ruiz at a spa near Santa Barbara last Thursday, the Telegraph reported.
The two sisters were last seen leaving the party in a car without a licence plate, the BBC reported.
Ruiz was reportedly angered after watching his girlfriend dancing with another man at the party. The couple had a fight before Ruiz took out a pistol and shot dead Sofia. Maria tried to flee, but was shot twice in the back, the Telegraph reported.
The sisters were shot dead on the banks of the River Aguagua, El Pais reported. Their bodies were found on Wednesday.
Ruiz reportedly confessed to the murders of the two sisters and buried them with the help of Aris Valentin Maldonado. Both men have been arrested by Honduran police, the BBC reported.
