Exploding poop topples building: cesspool excrement explosion injures 15 in central China

A cesspool filled with excrement exploded in the central Chinese province of Hunan on Saturday, tearing down a building and injuring 15 people, according to an AFP report.
The explosion, which happened in the city of Zhangjiajie, was reportedly caused by a 41-year-old local man who was burning waste near the cesspool, according to the Mirror newspaper.
The man was reportedly burning five bamboo baskets and some plastic basins.
The burning ignited methane gas emanating from the pit, causing an explosion that tore down a nearby building.
Three of the people who sustained injuries have since been hospitalized.
