Ski lift accident: boy dangles and then falls off ski lift in Pennsylvania

Harrowing moments as a 9-year-old boy dangles precariously 20 feet above a ski slope after falling out of the ski lift. The boy was sitting with an adult male on the chairlift at Liberty Mountain Resort in Fairfield, Pennsylvania. Apparently the boy was fidgeting around on the bench.
The safety bar that goes over the laps of the occupants wasn’t locked in the down position, and the boy fell, but thanks to the man next to him, was saved by a tight grip on his coat.
Resort staff told the boy to shake his skis off and simply fall into the snow below, which was soft powder at that point. He only suffered minor leg injuries, and was able to hobble home under his own power.
Remember, next time you go skiing, please use the safety bar on the ski lift. Especially when sitting with fidgety kids.
