False accusations: Woman claims she was attacked and almost raped to avoid work

In Yingge, a rural district just outside of Taipei, a woman, identified by her last name, Cai, tried to lie her way out of working the evening shift.
Ms. Cai, age 36, told her female manager at the Pentel factory that she’d been attacked and almost raped on her way home one evening. Ms. Cai said she’d been rear ended and that the man attempted to drag her into the nearby field to rape her.
Thankfully, her boyfriend was worried about her not answering her phone and rushed out to find her. He found her by using GPS to locate her phone and was able to fight off her would-be rapist.
Ms. Cai’s manager took her off the evening shift, but also contacted the police about a potential would-be rapist roaming the streets at night. Only, the police had no record of Ms. Cai reporting the attack. The police investigated further and noted that none of the CCTVs along Ms. Cai’s route showed her being stopped or attacked.
Under questioning, Ms. Cai finally confessed she’d made up the whole story just to avoid working the evening shift.
Well, looks like she won’t have to worry about that now since she’s been fired.
