Paris knife attack: 3 soldiers stabbed by suspect who was expelled from Turkey

Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi said that the man suspected of being responsible for a knife attack on a group of soldiers on Tuesday was carrying an identity card with the name Moussa Coulibaly. However, it he did not appear to be related to Amedy Coulibaly, who attacked a Paris supermarket on January 9.
The mayor also told French TV that a second man had been arrested in connection with the stabbing incident.
Coulibaly attacked a group of soldiers patrolling a Jewish community centre in Nice, wounding one in the cheek, another in the leg, and a third in the chin, according to the BBC.
The attack reportedly came after Coulibaly was traveling on a tram without a ticket and was approached by a ticket collector. He left the tram and targeted the soldiers, the BBC reported, fleeing immediately after. However, he was quickly apprehended by a shop owner and tram workers and police patrolling nearby.
Coulibaly raised suspicions last week when he bought a one-way ticket to Turkey, flying there from Ajaccio in Corsica on January 28. However, he was expelled from Turkey after French intelligence asked authorities to send him back, where he was detained for questioning.
The knife attack comes a month after terror attacks in Paris by three Islamist gunmen. Seventeen people were killed in the terror attacks, after which 10,500 soldiers were deployed to sensitive areas, including Jewish and Muslim centres and media buildings.
