Wife poisons husband: abused spouse pours pesticide into ex-husband’s bedtime drink

An abused woman poisoned her 58-year-old former husband in the Taiwanese city of Taoyuan, just outside the island nation’s capital Taipei.
The woman, identified by her surname Zhang, said she could no longer tolerate her husband’s abuse. Despite the fact that they’d already gone through a divorce, he still allegedly intruded on her daily life by manipulating their children.
Her ex had been a truck driver and a heavy drinker who would often abuse her after a long day on the road. Late in life he developed type 2 diabetes, which caused him to have severe mood swings, making things even worse.
Whenever, Zhang left her husband he would call one of their grown children and demand that they come back to care for him. When he was angry he would beat and emotionally abuse his children, so Zhang always felt forced to return home to take care of her ex-husband.
Finally, after years of emotional manipulation and abuse Zhang had had enough and poured pesticide into her husband’s powdered milk before making him his bedtime drink.
After he collapsed and stopped breathing she called the police and fessed up, telling them that she could no longer tolerate his abuse of her or his manipulation and abuse of their children.
