Cold blooded killer: Man rapes 8YO girl for 10 years then murders her for speaking out

A judge has just sentenced one Mr. Xu to life in prison for the murder of an 18-year-old girl he’d previously raped.
Fourteen years ago, Mr. Xu moved in with the victim’s divorced mother. He began raping the girl when she was just 8-years-old. The sexual abuse continued for 10 years before the girl finally found the courage to tell her father.
When the girl’s mother learned about the rapes she committed suicide out of guilt.
The girl’s father convinced her to report Mr. Xu to the police for the rapes and after police investigation the prosecutor charged Mr. Xu with over 500 counts of rape.
But Mr. Xu began stalking the girl and her father. One day he waited until the father had left the house for work, then broke in, and strangled the teenager to death with a metal wire. He then strung the dead body from the bedpost to the floor, attempting to make her death look like an accident. Mr. Xu probably thought this solved all his problems.
However, police investigated the girl’s death and then charged Mr. Xu with her murder.
This week a judge sentenced Mr. Xu to life in prison. The reason the judge gave for not giving Mr. Xu the death penalty was because Mr. Xu had financially provided for the dead victim and her mother for 14 years.
So as long as you financial support your rape and murder victim you can avoid the death penalty. Is that right?
