Animal cruelty: Dog shot three times and left for dead tied to train tracks

Police outside of Tampa, Florida, are searching for the person who left a two-year-old pit bull mix for dead tied to railroad tracks.

On Wednesday, officers received at least three phone calls of shots fired. When they arrived on the scene, they found the dog, named Cabela, shot three times and tied to the train tracks with a belt.

Police were able to stop the oncoming train, rescuing the dog. They found Cabela had been shot three times and rushed her to Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Center for surgery.

Unfortunately, doctors were forced to amputate the dog's front let due to injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery. The cost of Cabela's treatment will run several thousands dollars, but will be picked up by the clinic, according to CNN.
