The World Animal Awareness Society is using state-of-the-art drones to track a serious stray animal problem in Houston.

Tom McPhee, executive director of the non-profit organization, believes Houston has a million abandoned dogs roaming the streets, The Houston Chronicle reports.

That buzz heard hovering over Houston neighborhoods is a DJI 1 state-of-the-art drone on a mission to track stray dogs.
The World Animal Awareness Society has taken an initiative to look at cities like Houston, which is facing an abandoned animal crisis. "Operation Houston: Stray Dog City," looks at how to save lives of defenseless animals with the latest technology.
McPhee told TOMO News he will use GPS technology and volunteers on the ground to survey the area and report his accurate findings on the stray dog population.
