GPS fail: wife burned alive after husband follows GPS off closed bridge in Chicago

Chicago police are not 100% sure, but they think a man’s misguided trust in his GPS system might have cost a woman her life Saturday after Zorha and Iftikhar Hussain drove to see relatives that morning. Investigators suspect Iftikhar followed his GPS system over the Cline Avenue Bridge, which has been closed since 2009.

The couple’s car plunged off the bridge, fell almost 40 feet, and burst into flames. Zorah, 51, burned to death. Her husband survived and is in stable condition.

The accident seemed to have been completely avoidable as cops say there were barricades and signs clearly indicating the road was closed.
