Mexico:Gov't says students' disappearance not a crime against humanity

In response to a request for information on the case of the 43 missing Ayotzinapa students by the Mexican daily La Jornada, the country's new Attorney General Arely Gomez said it was not a crime against humanity, but rather an "isolated incident" as it did not involve a generalized and systematic attack against the population. Last week, a team of experts from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights said the case involved enforced disappearances and called on authorities to apply this charge and adopt policies to address this widespread practice.
