Moles are being used by the Viborg Museum in Denmark to help assess archaeological sites by digging up small artifacts that indicate the potential presence of a structure underneath.
A different breed of archaeologist is being mobilized in Denmark to help uncover the past.
Officials at the Viborg Museum have deployed moles--with approval from the local cultural authority--to explore a historical site south of Viborg where it is believed that remnants from a Middle Ages fort have been buried.
