Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington for a visit at the invitation of republicans. The controversial trip has underscored the cooling of relations between the two nations since Barack Obama was elected president. In Syria, so-called moderate rebel groups have rejected a truce plan. The U.N. official who brokered the plan had been hoping a deal would allow humanitarian aid into the city of Aleppo.
