Babies can enter the world at some of the most inopportune times and in potentially dangerous places.

A newborn in India survived an unusual and scary birth on Monday. The mother, who has only been identified as 22-year-old Manu, delivered her son inside a train cubicle that acts as a restroom.

A local police official further explained, "The woman...felt acute labour pain, so she went to the toilet to relieve herself and gave birth to a baby boy who slipped down through the toilet bowl and fell on the tracks."

Right after delivering the infant, Manu fell unconscious. The majority of restrooms on Indian trains have what is called "western-style and squat toilets" and the chutes often spill the contents right onto the tracks.
