Cheap gas keeps Hungary tied to Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Budapest to meet Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whom some Hungarians have cast as his alter ego.

During Putin’s visit to the capital, the two leaders are expected to sign a new energy deal that provides cheap gas to Hungary, which receives 80 per cent of its gas from Russia.

Western critics have accused Hungary of getting too close to the Kremlin, serving Moscow's interest by disrupting gas supplies to Ukraine.
